Biomanufacturing Undergraduate Certificate

15 credit hours

This is a comprehensive training initiative aimed at providing students with the essential knowledge, skills and practical experience necessary to excel in various roles in the biomanufacturing industry, including engineers, technicians, project managers, regulatory affair specialists, etc. Students will learn the scientific principles and analyses of upstream and downstream process operations and apply these skills through experiential learning opportunities. The program covers industry-relevant concepts including regulatory compliance, product quality and safety, good laboratory practices, and professional standards.

The program will train degree seeking undergraduate students from diverse majors, including biological systems engineering, chemical engineering or related disciplines such as engineering technology management biomanufacturing option, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, animal science, grain science or food science for a broad spectrum of biomanufacturing careers.

Coursework

The Biomanufacturing certificate program requires 15 credit hours from four biomanufacturing competencies.
